SENIOR ROUND UP: CUP TIME SYNOPSIS

The first team wrapped up their season with a game display in the 40-28 away loss to Chingford in the Round-of-16 knockout stages of the Papa John Community Cup (Counties One South Shield section) on Saturday 13 April.

Chingford ruled the roost in the first-half by securing a 28-0 half-time lead and, after going further ahead early in the second-half, they had then to survive a sterling fightback from the visitors.

Man of the Match Nathan Clarke (two) (pictured), Calum Middleton and Lawrence Loo all crossed for the visitors, with Paul Duke proving flawless from the tee by potting all four conversions.

Ignatians used the time productively to blood a number of promising young prospects, with Ben Villamor, Declan Linnane and Erik Nagy all showing glimpses of their undoubted potential.

A full report has been published in the relevant match reports’ section.
