Last Sunday Carl and Frank ran the Manchester Marathon with aim of raising £1,000 for the Lucas Yoxall Memorial Fund. In fact they smashed the target, raising £2342. Every penny raised will now go directly to helping young boys experience the sport that meant so much to Lucas.
The tired and aching limbs of two of our First XV stalwarts battled the heat of Manchester to finish the gruelling event in very respectable times
For those who are not aware....
In early 2024, we lost our dear friend and teammate, Lucas Yoxall, a passionate member of the Enfield Ignatians Rugby Club First Team. Lucas was not just a force on the field, but also an incredible person off it. His love for rugby and the friendships he formed were at the heart of everything he did.
In his memory, Lucas’ family with rugby club established the Lucas Yoxall Memorial Fund. This fund is dedicated to helping young boys who may not have the financial means to access rugby. The fund provides equipment, subscriptions, and support to ensure the sport is accessible to all, no matter their background. This is a fitting tribute to Lucas’ enduring love for rugby and his commitment to the community.
Lucas' family, Frank and carl and the Club are incredibly grateful for all the donations , no matter how big or small that made all the running worthwhile. Together, you helped ensure that Lucas' spirit lives on at the club, helping others enjoy rugby just as he did.
Thank you for your support. The Ignatians family truly appreciate your generosity.
