The U15s did very well to turn their fortunes around after shading Romford & Gidea Park 19-17 in tricky conditions at Donkey Lane on Sunday 1 December.
The visitors made the most of the elements to forge a 17-0 half-time lead, but Ignatians proved more than equal to the challenge, and the fight back began with the hosts rumbling over in the corner via captain Cian.
Ignatians subsequently moved within five points of Romford’s lead after Adam went in under the sticks, before wrapping up matters in the wind and the rain by using their most effective ball, David A, carrier to deadly effect.
Crucially, the Ignatians’ kicker, Harry H, added a second conversion, and this was ultimately the difference between the two sides in a hard fought and very close contest.
A full report on the game will be published in due course.
