NOV 17 :U14S/ ENFIELD TIGERS EXCEL IN WEST LONDON/U12S UPDATE

The Enfield Tigers 14s made the trip to the historic Richmond Athletic Ground pay off in spades after having too much in the locker for a combined Richmond and Ealing team. It culminated gloriously in a 55-40 win at the west London arena (Nov 17).

The visitors travelled with a bit of trepidation as five players, Aysha Rei, Ava, Ngoyi, Paige and Victoria, were making their debuts.

Despite their relative inexperience, the quintet acquitted themselves superbly as Victoria (a hat-trick of tries) Paige (twice) and Aysha Rei (once) all succeeded in crossing the whitewash.

However, the game isn’t simply about scoring tries, as Ava made a fantastic contribution at prop, having proved mighty effective in the rucks, whereas winger, Ngoyi, became more involved as the game progressed.

The experienced players also made their mark, and dynamic number eight Mollie drove over for two tries, whereas the breakaway runs/jackling skills of Ella and Amy also came to the fore.

Fast starting Tigers dominated the first half scoring most of their tries in the early part of the game. They also prospered considerably in the set scrums, with Amber proudly winning every feed on the Tigers’ put-in. To cap a dominant performance, she also pinched a few strikes against the head.

As the game progressed, and with the lack of subs on the Tigers’ bench starting to tell, Richmond and Ealing came more into the game, and they finished with a flourish, having claimed the majority of their scores in the final quarter.

We would also to thank our hosts for their hospitality,

Enfield Tigers U14s: Ava, Amber, Paige, Victoria, Aysha Rei, Molly, Amy, Rosie, Faye, Ella, Ngoyi, Freya and Emily.

(ENFIELD TIGERS U12S) The Enfield Tigers U12s clustered with Old Grammarians and Finchley, and the team played some good rugby but lost both their games against an Ealing cluster side 7-3 and Welwyn 7-2.
