FEB 28/MARCH 1 FIRST TEAM/BIG WEEKEND FOR GIRLS/U16s and ACADEMY/U13S/MINIS

(FIRST TEAM) Saturday February 28 – It’s all to play for in the Counties Two Middlesex league which has effectively divided into two, with the first team joining Finsbury Park, our opponents on Saturday, plus Actonians and Old Millhillians, in the ‘Shield’ competition.

This is effectively a home and away competition for the sides which were ranked fifth to eighth in the league table. The kick-off time for the Finsbury Park game is 2.30pm.

The squad has been chosen and is Alfie Fordham*, Cairo Sango*, Curtis Young, Ed Barker*, Frazer Briers*, Ryan Loo*, Dan Shaw, Chris Langan, William Bruce*, Finlay MacKay* (VC), Henry Sibley*, Seyi Adeosun*, Euan Renny* (cpt), Liam Horn*, , Sam Rushmer, Rondel Bernard, Matt Pollard, Ken Carroll* (18) *= home grown players.

(Sunday March 1) It’s a big weekend for the junior and girls’ sections, with a contingent from the Enfield Tigers clustering under the Welwyn banner in the relevant regional cup final, which seems them pitted against Wimbledon at Welwyn RFC.

The ko time is 2pm and the address of Welwyn RFC is Hobbs Way, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL8 6HX.

The Enfield Tigers U12s are at home to Welwyn.

The Enfield Tigers U14s have a local Derby pencilled-in against Saracens.

(Junior/minis sections) The U16s, having won all their six Herts-Middlesex Three games to date, will be hoping to set the seal on a stellar campaign by wrapping up the title against Verulamian RFC at Donkey Lane on Sunday (March 1).

In many ways it’s the perfect ending to the league campaign, given that first are pitted up against second, and providing that Ignatians can rescue at least a point from the game, the title will be theirs.

However, there’s no doubting that the U16s will be seeking to do a whole lot better than that,

The kick-off time is 10.45 and your support would be very much welcome.

(SENIOR ACADEMY) The Enfield Ignatians Academy, currently sitting second in the Herts-Middlesex Colts’ Division Five table, and with an outside chance of topping their division, wrap up their league campaign at home to Harrow. The game kicks off at 11.15.

The mathematics, though, are a lot more complex with Ignatians (currently tied for second with Aylesbury and Harrow on 14 points) needing to win with maximum points, and hope that results go their way elsewhere, particularly as Harrow have a game in hand.

The U13s conclude their league with an away fixture against Chess Valley.

The address of Chess Valley RFC is the Croxley Guild Of Sport, The Green, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Herts WD3 3HT.

(MINIS) The U7s and U8s are taking part in Middlesex County Tournaments: the U7s are at Teddington, whereas the U8s travel to Roehampton to the home of Rosslyn Park RFC.

The address of Teddington FC is the Clapperstile car park, Dora Jordan Road (access via NPL Gates Queen's Road), Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 0EA.

The address of Rosslyn Park FC is Priory Lane, Upper Richmond Road, SW15 5JH

The U9s to U12s age groups are away at Finchley, who play at Summers Lane, N12 0PD
