IGNATIANS HONOUR THE MEMORY OF LUCAS/FRAZER BRIERS IS THE MARY MADDEN'S MOM

ENFIELD IGNATIANS honoured the memory of the late Lucas Yoxall (pictured) in the best possible way after getting one back on St Albans 32-24, who had prevailed when the sides met in September, following a topsy-turvy encounter at Donkey Lane on Saturday 18 January.

In a game punctuated by six yellow cards, four of which were brandished in the direction of the visitors, Ignatians just about shaded an indifferent first-half 10-7 following a Paul Duke penalty, and after being awarded a penalty try for a deliberate knock-on.

Ignatians cashed in on their numerical superiority via touchdowns from Carl Asare-Anderson and the Mary Madden's Man of the Match Frazer Briers, and with Alfie Fordham adding the bonus point try, the home side were sitting pretty, having charged into a 17 points lead.

However, St Albans, to their credit, refused to lie down and they added to a try earlier in the half, by collecting two further touchdowns to move within five points of Ignatians, before Paul Duke calmly slotted his second penalty to seal matters.

Incidentally, Paul Duke also added two conversions as Ignatians, for the first time this season, bagged all five points.
