ENFIELD IGNATIANS delivered arguably their finest performance of the season after sharing the spoils 27-27 with second-placed Wasps at Donkey Lane on Saturday 15 February.
In a game of twists and turns, Ignatians were a minute away from winning the game only for a mistake to let in Wasps at the death. The visitors also had a last gasp chance to snatch the game but the conversion, much to Ignatians’ relief, sailed wide.
Still, Ignatians played some very cute rugby and, with the whole squad from one to 18 energised, they ran in four tries via Tom MacDougall, Ryan Loo (two) and the Mary Madden’s Man of the Match Nathaniel Clarke (in the blue scrum cap).
Paul Duke converted two of Ignatians four tries and he also added a penalty as Ignatians and Wasps, who also played their part in an enthralling contest, each went home with three points apiece.
