The family has also asked that you confirm your attendance as they need to know numbers.
The club has also made additional arrangements so as to assist the many club members wishing to make the trip to Reading. The schedule is as follows:
• 9.00-9.15: Meet Paddington Station at the mainline concourse.
• 9.30: The Great Western train departs for Reading. This will enable us to take advantage of the cheaper post-peak time return fares. You are advised to book your tickets in advance.
• 9.53: Train arrives at Reading. The coach boarding point can be located on the NORTH side of the station at Stand NA of the Northern Interchange.
• 10.00: The pre-booked EIRFC Coach departs for the Reading Crematorium.
• 10.45: Funeral Service
• Post funeral (option A: funeral/wake): EIRFC Coach to The Waterside (as above).
• Post funeral (Option B/funeral only): EIRFC Coach will also drop off returning members to London at Reading Station.
• 12.30 onwards: Wake.
• PLEASE MAKE YOUR BOOKING ASAP (by e-mailing michael.geoffrey.taylor@gmail.com. Ideally, the close of play on Thursday would be very helpful as we will need to confirm numbers by the weekend. You can also e-mail me at the above address if you have any questions.
• A fee of £10 per person will be collected on the coach at Reading Station.
• Dress code: Number Ones or South Africa/Canada tour blazers.
Please note that the EIRFC coach caters for both those mourners wishing to return to London after the funeral, and those attending the wake. Please note that the latter group will have to make their own independent arrangements for returning home.
The coach should ensure we will be on time for all the day’s events, as we will be avoiding the early morning congestion problems associated with the M25. So let the train take the strain!
The family has advised that are also hotel options available, all within a 20-minute walk of the wake venue (Waterside Pub), and namely: the Premier Inn Winnersh, the Crowne Plaza Reading and Travelodge Winnersh Triangle.
