FRIENDLY: DECEMBER 14TH
UNDER SIXTEENS CLEAN UP AGAINST CHINGFORD
ENFIELD IGNATIANS U16S 35 CHINGFORD 5
The U16s are adjusting well to life in Herts-Middlesex Division Two and, after the tremendous win the previous week against Ealing, they continued on a roll after carrying too many guns for visiting Chingford at Donkey Lane.
Although the fixture was billed as a friendly, coach Andy Sellick used the occasion to blood a number of fringe players, and the squad caught the mood perfectly with a comprehensive win,
Traditionally slow starters, Ignatians were only 7-0 in front at the break following a try from Jack Allen, but they cut loose after the break and further scores from Allen, Matthew Priddle (two) and George Cox underpinned a big and comfortable victory.
Cox also had his kicking boots ON as he added five conversions.
Andy Sellick said: "It was a good occasion to give other squad members some valuable game time and a number of players did very well - with Edmund Doherty, Matthew Kennard and Joseph Nelson each putting in a good shift."
