Enfield Ignatians endured one of those frustrating, long afternoons. They certainly had the muscle up front to do some damage, but after one of the Harpdenden props was injured in an early scrum, and no replacement was forthcoming, the game went uncontested from the early minutes.
Consequently, the blue and golds' gameplan of hitting the ball up through the forwards soon went out of the window, and, instead, Harpenden's wide game kicked in, granted the perfect conditions, and going to the dying minutes, the Hertfordshire side were well in front at 40-0 up.
However, Ignatians' never gave up and, in the last play of the game, the blue and golds resorted to one of their weapons of choice, the catch and drive, and the successful execution enabled Sean Coyne to go over in the score.
The successful conversion, by Paul Duke, restored some respectability to the score, in a gamewhich marked the return of former first team player Neil Cason.
Ignatians will also reflect that they could have also scored earlier in the game when Ray Hayes was held up on the line.
On a positive note, Ignatians' front row, including Stuart Blemmings, carried well and there was also a combative display from openside flanker Piers Horgan.
