In a game which had it all, and we wish the injured Datchworth player a prompt and speedy recovery, the twos did very well to come back from the dead, and particularly in the first-half when events were fast running away from them in the form of a 21-3 deficit which would spelled the end for a lesser side.

The visitors piled on the pressure and, meek resistance in the form of a successful Sam Barnes penalty, was all that the blue and golds initially had to offer.

However, the hosts never gave up and they started to click belatedly in the half. The rewards were tangible in the form of two tries, one from the club's own Flying Dutcham Dave Korthals, and the Cornishman hewn of granite, Stuart Blemings, as the forwards started to get on top.

Suddenly, we were looking at a different game as the blue and golds hauled themselves to within eight points at 21-13 down, and it was certainly game on in the second-half.

A side transformed in the second period, when the game was moved to an adjoining pitch in
order to allow the ambulance men to treat the stricken Datchworth player, the blue and golds carried on
were they left off.

A dangerous break by fullback Miles Wotherspoon resulted in a neat score for Carl Asare-Anderson, which was converted, before Ignatians edged ahead for the first time in the game by adding a second penalty.

Datchworth briefly got their noses in front by replying in kind.

However, it was to be the only time that they scored in the half, and a grandstand finish which resulted in tries for the speedy Eron Dottin-Wilson and the experienced Andy Roper made the game safe in what was an epic encounter.
