It was with some surprise that the threes were grounded. They had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Tabard II until the call came through from the opposition at around 11.30am stating that they were unable to honour the fixture.
Still, captain Bish Galloway preferred to look on the bright side of life. "It's frustrating for all concerned. We had been looking forward to the game after our win the previous week, but at least we will be awarded a 25-0 win," he said.
It would have been all too easily for the threes to fade into the background and feel sorry for themselves. Not a bit of it. Instead, nine members of the squad still made it onto the paddock for an impromptu training session. It's a steely attitude that should stand them in good stead in the coming weeks.
