THREES SUCCESFULLY BLEND YOUTH AND EXPERIENCE

Weston is never an easy place to win at. However, the threes, having successfully absorbed a number of ex-colts into their ranks, came up with the winning formula in what was a tough work-out for both sides in advance of the new season, writes Jonathan Landi.

The game could have gone either way and it took a successful penalty from David Conlan to seal the issue for the visitors.

The presence of youngsters such as prop Lewis White, winger Donny Noble and Ethan Renny was a certainly a bonus for the team, and the latter effectively operated in a pack alongside captain father Steve who packed down at eight.

However, this was a real team effort and one in which the squad will be seeking to translate in the forthcoming weeks in the shape of tangible league results.
