Not the result craved particularly as Ignatians’ tight eight were the dominant force in a game, which was originally scheduled for Donkey Lane, but which for one reason or another was transferred to Hendon.

The plus points for the visitors, in addition to a dominant scrum, also included a couple of tries for the promising young prospect Ben Phillips.
Some great work from the Ignatians’ tight eight helped the U18s academy player go over for a first, and he completed his brace after latching on to a deft Richard Carroll cross-field kick.

Despite feeling the heat up front, Hendon rallied strongly and one of their tries resulted from a quick tap penalty.

Ignatians also tried to go down the kick-back route but were undone after the speedy Hendon winger regathered and applied the afterburners.
