The pre-season regime of the Hertfordshire side, which acts as back-up to the first team, also spoke and loud against the under-cooked visitors which clearly have work to do.
Ignatians' acting captain Simon Urquhart didn't pull any punches after the game by highlighting several areas for improvement. He said: "Welwyn had the edge in fitness and organisation and hit us out wide. We also faltered in the line out although it did eventually improve.
"There was also a sustained period of 20 minutes in the second-half which we were camped in the opposition half although we didn't come away with anything. I thought that Jack Wilson had a good game with the boot."
