Writes Jon Landi

The threes are on a roll and visiting Hendon IIs became their latest victims in what was a far cry from the last time the sides met which resulted in a 47-17 drubbing for the blue and golds.

This time the boot was firmly on the other foot as Ignatians IIIs, with stricken captain Steve Renny casting a watchful eye on proceedings from the touchline, well satisfied with the outcome as the blue and golds ran riot by crossing the whitewash nine times.

Sam Barnes, carrying on from where he left-off against Letchworth, again proved to one of the defining presences as he cut loose by hitting the visitors for four tries.

Lewis White wasn't far behind with the bullocking forward making his physicality tell after forcing his way over for a hat-trick.

Man of the Match James Galea also crossed after a fine all-round performance and Leighton Thomas,
the former second-team captain, also turned poacher for the occasion by claiming an interception try. He also laid on another score.

Outgunned for large parts of the game, Hendon belatedly came into it in the final 20 minutes, but the horse had largely bolted by then.

Steve Renny said: "Hendon came into the game understrength numerically {11 players} but, after a discussion, we agreed to loan the visitors three players and it became a 14 versus 14 contest which only seemed fair.

"It was one of those games in which everyone played well and some even played out of their skins. We added five conversions to our try haul. That was our third win in a row and we're on a roll and its onwards and upwards.

"Our aim is to consolidate in this higher league, and finish in mid-division but if we can finish higher up we will endeavour to do so."
